THE JOURNEY
Mara Megelea is a GIA Gemologist and Jewelry Designer based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
She completed her Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne in 2013 before pursuing her passion for gemology and jewellery design at the Gemological Institute of America in Bangkok, Thailand.
After working for several years for diamond dealers and auction houses in Geneva, she established her eponymous brand in 2018. Since then, specializes in exclusive engagement rings & fine jewellery collections, utilising primarily precious stones sourced during field expeditions.
With over 10 years of experience in the field, she is an active member of the Swiss Gemological Society, the RapNet Network, the GIA Alumni Association Switzerland and EHL Alumnis.
OUR VISION: 360°
Our main goal is to develop, empower, and connect artisanal small-scale miners by linking them with our clients through our creations.
We aim for our creations to not only be beautiful but also to retain value and appreciate over time, making them a sound investment. The exceptional quality of our precious stones and their stories are what set us apart.
Mara splits her time between her showroom in Lausanne and field expeditions in various countries such as Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and Colombia, to name a few.

THE ATELIERS
Mara Megelea's designs are executed by local independent artisans, each specialized in their craft. Each piece is unique and handcrafted.
The jewelry atelier is situated in Lausanne city center, a few minutes from our showroom. Since day one, this is where our creations are brought to life.
The setting atelier specializes in high-end watch and jewelry setting. They are situated in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva.
The hand engraver is located in Geneva city center. Some pieces, such as chains, are crafted in Italy by specialized ateliers.

We are sophisticated yet simple, sensitive yet strong, focused yet wild, spontaneous yet organized… The Alter Ego Collection embraces the duality within us, seeking balance and harmony.
At the heart of this collection lies the art of decision-making without making a decision or compromise. It is about honoring our Alter and our Ego equally.
In a world where everything needs to be defined, I've crafted this collection as a tribute to the multifaceted nature of human expression—unique and precious, much like every facet of the gems I've sourced.
The eternity rings are adorned with different exceptional quality precious stones on each side or feature a flawless gradient of Sri Lankan sapphires that repeats itself twice around the finger.

Few realize that sapphires come in all the colors of the spectrum.
Each design showcases a flawless gradient of colors that wraps around the finger twice.

Her showroom is located behind Lausanne Cathedral and welcomes visitors only by appointment from Monday to Friday from 9AM to 5PM.
